AMARE (Marine animals responses to environmental variability) > aims

The AMARE team aims at :

  • 1) Characterising the physiological and behavioural responses of marine animals submitted to the variations of environmental factors at different scales (from the cell to the individual)
  • 2) Understanding the impact of these responses from the individual to the population in terms of distribution, growth, reproduction and survival.

The studies of the AMARE team particularly focus on the influence of environmental constraints:
- on different key organs through the analysis of physiological responses;
- on the individuals through the analysis of physiological and behavioural responses;
- on the populations through the identification of adaptation markers.

The studies undergone by the researchers of AMARE belongs to two research axes :

- Study of physiological responses of marine animals to their changing environment
- Study of the interactions between top predators and their resources
