Coastal blue carbon storage and its contribution to carbon offsets in Red River Delta, Vietnam
The PhD. programme aims to address the present shortage of research on the origin of the deposited organic matters in Vietnam’s blue carbon ecosystems as well as the diversity of microbial communities that facilitate soil biogeochemical processes, i.e., carbon cycle, within and across adjacent systems. Understanding how these blue carbon ecosystems contribute to climate change impact mitigation as well as to sustainable development is crucial to enhance the ability of Vietnam to adapt with future needs, participate in global carbon-based market, and achieve better decision-making in term of policy and management.
